Live Healthy Live Well: A Social Innoviation of Missouri Program

For the past two years, Live Healthy Live Well (LHLW) partners have been instrumental in crafting plans to create policies, systems, and environments that make living healthy easier.  Walking trails, sidewalk development, increased activity and healthy foods in schools, workplace wellness, tobacco cessation and prevention are among positive initiatives implemented by Lafayette County Live Healthy, Live Well.

Live Healthy Live Well is an initiative of the Social Innovation for Missouri (SIM) Grant. Funding for the program, which is in its second year, is provided in part by the Missouri Foundation for Health. The Missouri Foundation for Health is a philanthropic organization whose vision is to improve the health of people in the communities it serves. Additional funders include the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City and REACH Healthcare Foundation.

LHLW is geared towards children and adults at school and at the workplace. Program components include:

Plans for year three include a continued emphasis on creating sidealks, ADA accessibility, walking routes and trails as well as promoting healthy concessions and smoke-free air at Lafayette County parks.
