A Passion to Serve
Toniann is no stranger to rural living. She was raised in Central Kansas on a Hereford farm, where her father and brother still raise cattle. A family of entrepreneurs, Toniann's mother has owned a beauty salon since the early1980s and her brother owns a meat packing company and a farm. An active member of her church and a strong proponent for women in leadership, Toniann's passion for rural health stems from her overall passion for serving those in need. "I have a strong passion for people who live in poverty and for those who are hurting," she said.
This passion has been a catalyst for her leadership as CEO of the Health Care Collaborative of Rural Missouri, the only health care network in the country that operates not one but four Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).
A Collaborative Approach
Toniann's career goals for the organization are to successfully develop a sustainable Rural Health Network for providers and is working with HCC's Network to develop highly effective service delivery models for vulnerable populations. Toniann firmly believes that organizations are more successful when they partner with others.
Fully Vested in Rural Health Care
Toniann has over 20 years of experience in nonprofit, and as many years of experience working with community networks. In the last four years, her expertise has been instrumental in successfully implementing and launching programs that improve access to care and health care delivery to underserved populations.
Community Service: A Family Affair
Toniann and her husband Pat, head football coach at Oak Grove High School and weights program leader, have an 11-year-old daughter, Grace, who loves competitive cheer. They reside in rural Missouri and take an active lead in their local community.
